Interactive attractions specialist, Alterface is celebrating the opening of Poland’s first interactive dark ride, Bazyliszek (Basilisk), at Legendia theme park.

The attraction was created in partnership with leading theming company, Jora Vision, and ETF, and features cutting-edge dark ride technology.

Alterface was the main contractor for the attraction, providing advanced solutions for video mapping, gameplay, show control and shooting devices.

Jora Vision were responsible for the design and production of theming for the ride and its queueing areas. ETF crafted the trackless multi-mover vehicles to reflect the Bazyliszek theme.

Pawel Cebula, CEO of Legendia, praised all three companies for their dedication and expertise:

“Alterface stepped right into the action after the contract was signed, detailing the scenario and sharing ideas, based on their huge expertise. Our goal was to build a high-level dark ride around a well-known Polish legend, and at an affordable budget. With the new Basilisk ride, we offer as a regional park an advanced mixed-media attraction that will appeal to young and old.”

Poland ‘catching up on theme park entertainment’

Guests begin their journey when they enter the headquarters of the Monster Hunters Guild. Here they learn that the peaceful village of Kurkowo is under attack from monsters. The most dangerous of all is the Basilisk.

Once aboard the ride vehicles, guests become monster hunters, travelling through ancient villages, dark caves, forests and ruins. The aim is to defeat the ferocious Basilisk using their Monster Hunter Guns. The Alterface-designed laser weapons also feature light and mirror technology for special effects. Players compete for the highest score and a place in the Guild’s golden book.
