Angry Birds World opens in Qatar.  The indoor area of Rovio Entertainment’s largest ever entertainment complex is now open, with an outdoor park to follow.

Angry Birds World is situated in Doha Festival City, along the Al Shamal Road. The indoor section of the theme park stretches over 17,000 square metres with a huge array of rides and attractions.

Trampoline Universe comprises a 1,300 square metre area of trampolines. The Own the Sky roller glider is a breath-taking 106 metres long ride which allows fans to fly like Red. The attraction also features the world’s first indoor/outdoor multi-level karting track. The track, inspired by Angry Birds GO! Game stretches over 261 metres and lets friends and family pit their skills against one another.

There is also a laser tag arena and an arcade with over 70 games. The park has a wide range of themed restaurants and F&B options alongside merchandising.

Also included is The Big Tree, an education centre in which children can discover science and explore their creativity, expressing themselves musically.

The Angry Birds brand started with an iPhone game that swiftly turned into a multi-million dollar global franchise. The park is only one part of Rovio’s plans for the brand. The Angry Birds Movie 2 comes out next year and, in an interview with Variety, Rovio revealed that they are planning to adapt the game into a live-action television show.

The first Angry Birds Land opened at Särkänniemi Adventure Park in Finland was designed by Lappset Creative.

Rovio had support at the Qatar park from location-based entertainment company, Trimoo. “Angry Birds World is a world’s first in every aspect, from the theming to the choice of rides and entertainment,” Riad Makdessi, CEO of Trimoo, told Variety. “Through creativity, innovation, game and design thinking, we believe we can revolutionize the way people experience the world – and Angry Birds World is the first step towards realizing our goal. This is a significant milestone for us, as we bring to Qatar and the Middle East one of the largest indoor and outdoor entertainment hubs for the whole family.”

The outdoor section of Angry Birds World will open at an as yet undisclosed date.
