Cartoon Network has teamed up with Palace Entertainment to open its first hotel themed on the network’s popular animated characters.

Located in Central Pennsylvania, The Cartoon Network Hotel promises a ‘premier family lodging experience’ that will immerse guests in the much-loved worlds of Adventure Time, The Powerpuff Girls, We Bare Bears and many others.

Combining character animation and creative technology, the project promises to offer guests plenty of fun and surprises. Scheduled to open in 2019, the immersive hotel will be sited close to Palace Entertainment’s Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park. Highlights are set to include an interactive lobby, a brand-new resort-style pool and water play zone, an outdoor amphitheatre with a giant movie screen, lawn games, fire pits and more.

“With just the right mix of technology, design and animation, we’re aiming to bring our characters to life in a way that we haven’t seen done before,” noted Christina Miller, President of Cartoon Network-Adult Swim-Boomerang. “We can’t wait to be part of many family vacations with the ultimate Cartoon Network experience.”

Cartoon Network Hotel predicted to be a ‘game changer’

According to CN, each guest room or suite will feature interchangeable show theming to allow for customisation around children’s preferences. This means that repeat visits have the potential to provide a completely different experience. The hotel is also being designed as an all-weather attraction, with the indoor pool, game room, kids play area, and Cartoon Network store offering entertainment whatever the weather.

The hotel marks Palace Entertainment’s first partnership with an international brand on a lodging property. Rhetroactive will lead on design and conceptualisation for the project.

“This is going to be a game changer,” commented Rolf Paegert, Chief Operating Officer of Palace Entertainment. “With sleek contemporary designs that parents will appreciate and Easter egg type surprises for kids throughout the resort, the entire family will love this place. Cartoon Network’s stories and themes appeal to everyone in a fun, whimsical way.”
