Connect&GO launches white paper on RFID technology and theme parks

Connect & Go white paper RFID

Connect&GO, a leader in RFID solutions for the leisure, sports and attractions industry, has published a new white paper on how RFID technology can improve the guest experience at theme parks.

RFID technology has already been successful in a number of attractions around the world, for example, Disney’s MagicBand. Connect&GO have given some of their top reasons why parks should consider using RFID wearable tech.

Fun, easy to use and engaging

According to the company, RFID wristbands are simple to use for all ages, no matter how young or old. It’s easy to scan wristbands and younger guests will enjoy the fun of this new experience. When visitors scan their wristbands at a touch point, they are able to earn points, play games and take photos. There’s no need to carry around a mobile phone or tablet with multiple tickets either since everything is done through the wristband rather than using an app. Guests can enjoy the park and explore freely with their RFID connected wristband.

Easy to access data

Each wristband is linked to a visitor’s personal profile. This means that parks get more information about their customers each time they scan them. For example, the data will reveal general information on the park’s busiest times and most popular rides, alongside personal information such as that person’s favourite rides and time spent in the park.  Each chip stores a huge amount of information. Guest profiles have useful information such as age, gender and postcode. They also contain details of medical conditions, allergies and emergency contacts, which staff can quickly learn by scanning wristbands if an emergency arises.

Flexible technology

Data can be managed easily in real time via the dashboard. For visitors, this means that they can add packages and permissions to their order without queueing. Staff also have the ability to block guest profiles by making them ‘inactive’, meaning they can better deal with unruly visitors.

For robust and precise cashless payments, RFID systems such as Connect&GO’s Parkpass use a near-field communication solution. This ensures that customers’ personal profiles are recognised before payment goes ahead. Parks can manage all sales within one dashboard for a detailed overview of vendor activity. All transactions are recorded so that receipts or refunds can be produced at any time.

Connect&GO are experts in RFID solutions and help clients to incorporate the technology into their guest experience strategies. With their experience in the industry, the company has learned many lessons about the potentials of RFID technology.

RFID technology has many benefits for both the guest and the park, giving streamlined access with fun extras such as scavenger hunts, photo opportunities and games. Owl’s Head Resort in Quebec is an example of how RFID tech can make the customer experience hassle-free.
