Creative Works, the theming company and attractions provider, has installed its turnkey Game Up Esports attraction at multiple GameWorks locations across the US. Visitors at venues in Newport, KY, Schaumburg, IL, and Minneapolis, MN can now enjoy the gaming experience.

Game Up Esports is a turnkey attraction by Creative Works, which allows entertainment facilities to keep up with the trend for Esports – organised video game competitions that can take place either locally or globally online. Esports can allow businesses like GameWorks to generate revenue through tournaments, parties and also walk-in traffic.

GameWorks is already a success in the field, with its own self-built Esports lounges in several locations. The company made a connection with Creative Works at IAAPA Expo 2018 and saw that Game Up Esports could help it to develop the business even further.

“With a 20-year track record and solid reputation in the gaming and entertainment space, we’re leveraging our leadership position in competitive play, arcade games, food and entertainment. GameWorks is the only entertainment concept that now offers an entirely integrated entertainment experience, combining the popularity of eSports with the most in-demand arcade and redemption games, exceptional prizes and an eclectic, chef-driven restaurant. It’s truly an exciting and transformative time for our company and the industry,” says Philip N. Kaplan, chief executive officer at GameWorks.

At the forefront of the evolving entertainment industry

“The entertainment industry is constantly evolving, and it’s thrilling for us to build new attractions that will excite customers,” says Armando Lanuti, President at Creative Works. “Game Up Esports is a gorgeous centrepiece that engages customers, and it’s designed to make life easy for operators. We provide everything including custom desks and chairs, computer hardware and accessories, advanced servers, and game management software all in a single turnkey package.”

Creative Works worked with ggCircuit to deliver the game management software. The cloud-based software handles payments, leaderboards, and prize redemption. It also automatically manages all game updates and patches in the background. This means that there’s no manual work for operators. Furthermore, the software provides exclusive in-game features and character abilities that customers can’t access at home, which is a huge benefit for gaming and entertainment venues such as GameWorks.

“From soup to nuts this has been the easiest roll-out we have ever done. Armando and his team delivered as promised, on time, on budget and under the gun for delivery,” says Darren Des Roches, COO of GameWorks, Inc. Many other businesses within the entertainment attractions industry are also looking towards Esports and how the trend can benefit them.

Creative Works also recently unveiled its new Indiana Jones inspired laser tag game at The Summit Thornton in Colorado.
