Disney Skyliner has opened at Walt Disney World Resort for the “most magical flight on Earth”. The new transportation system features iconic Disney characters and scenes.

The attraction opened on September 29 and was dedicated by Disney executives. They were joined by cast members, fireworks, and characters.

Disney Skyliner connects Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

It will also connect the theme parks to the upcoming Disney’s Riviera Resort, scheduled to open on December 16.

Guests will ride through the air in approximately 300 gondolas, with nearly half of them featuring Disney scenes, characters, movies and attractions.

As they travel, guests will enjoy views of Walt Disney World Resort from above. Disney Skyliner provides bird’s-eye vantage points of the Hollywood Tower Hotel, Spaceship Earth, and more.

Riders will also have easy access to Disney’s BoardWalk entertainment district. Disney Skyliner also offers trips to dining locations at Disney Resort hotels, including Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.

The launch of Disney Skyliner comes after the company announced it is reorganising its theme park leadership.

Walt Disney World Resort will be led by Josh D’Amaro, while Disneyland Resort will welcome Rebecca Campbell.

Bob Chapek described it as “one of the most exciting times in the history of Disney parks”.
