Ride installation has begun at Dream Island, an indoor theme park in Moscow.

The first phase of ride installation began this month at Dream Island. It includes the installation of individual foundations for each of the 29 attractions. The work is scheduled to last 120 days.

External production of the attractions has already started, with the first due to be transported to the park in Moscow in the spring.

The installation of the foundations for the rides is expected to be laborious due to the peculiarities of the soil in the flood plain where the park is located. To compensate, 6,800 reinforced concrete piles will be installed, with 2,155 already in place.

Attractions being installed include a Dark Ride coaster designed by Intamin Amusement Rides that will accelerate to speeds of 80kmh. There is also a flying theatre attraction from Huss Park Attractions called Flight into the world of dinosaurs.

Amiran Mutsoev, board member of Regions Entertainment, said that special attention had been paid to safety, with rides only being developed by European contractors with a track record of success.

“At each stage of the work, we invite advanced specialists in this field for professional expertise and tests,” he added.

Development of Dream Island got back on track at the end of last month, when developer Regions Entertainment was able to secure a $657m loan to fund construction.
