Majid Al Futtaim and Dreamscape Immersive have opened Dreamscape’s first international location at Mall of the Emirates. The retailtainment destination offers three free-roaming virtual reality (VR) experiences.

After Dreamscape’s first two locations opened in Los Angeles and Dallas, the first outside of the US opens at Mall of the Emirates today (December 19).

Dreamscape at Mall of the Emirates will feature three original, critically-acclaimed, free-roaming experiences – ‘Alien Zoo’, ‘Curse of the Lost Pearl: A Magic Projector Adventure’, and ‘The Blu: Deep Rescue’.

Alien Zoo guests will travel to an intergalactic world where they meet and pet endangered alien creatures from across the galaxy, and narrowly escape the galaxy’s biggest predator.

The Curse of the Lost Pearl: A Magic Projector Adventure invites players to become part of an adventurous movie, as they unlock clues, escape from traps and discover the secret of the Lost Pearl.

In The Blu: Deep Rescue, Dreamscape’s co-production with WeVR, guests will explore the ocean’s underwater worlds and aquatic life, before rescuing a trapped baby blue whale and uniting it with its mother.

“The future of the entertainment industry lies in the hands of those who can enable human interaction through fulfilling, meaningful and memorable experiences,” said Alain Bejjani, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim.

“Dreamscape achieves this by blurring the lines between the physical and the virtual, fully immersing its users with other participants who can all influence the experience together.”

“By merging the scope and emotional power of cinema with the pure adrenaline of a theme park ride – all within a totally new VR technology – we have created a way for audiences to enter into and become part of the story for the first time,” said Walter Parkes, co-founder and chairman, Dreamscape.

“These are experiences that you cannot replicate anywhere else. We are thrilled to be partnering with Majid Al Futtaim in the MENA region to bring our one-of-a-kind venues to new audiences across the region.”

Dreamscape has also teamed up with DreamWorks Animation to launch the free-flying VR experience DreamWorks Dragons Flight Academy at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles.
