Dubai Expo 2020 reveals pavilions for Russia, France, China and more

Dubai Expo 2020 has unveiled more pavilions, including China’s ‘symbol of hope and a bright future’, and the France Pavilion, with solar-powered art and a parallel universe.

Organised around ideas of Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity, the Dubai 2020 Expo is themed ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’.

Hundreds of pavilions at the 1083-acre site will feature interactive, themed exhibits, immersive cultural experiences, live entertainment, and quirky hangouts.

Azerbaijan Pavilion

Inspired by nature and dedicated to the future of humanity, this pavilion features 1,300 sqm of gardens and walkways, an air cushion roof to cool high temperatures, and solar power, natural ventilation and rainwater harvesting technology.

The pavilion’s focus on the environment, reflected in its leaf-shaped roof, will encourage visitors to consider the impact of their choices and invest in the future to restore balance to the natural world.

China Pavilion

The China Pavilion will include the finest in Chinese innovation, dazzling light shows in the park, and 5G, AI and smart travel.

Combining traditional Chinese elements with modern architectural concepts, this pavilion will be one of the largest, at 4,636 sqm.

France Pavilion

With daily light shows, relaxing gardens and an innovation lab, the France Pavilion showcases the nation’s cultural riches and dedication to sustainability.

Titled ‘Light, Lights’, the theme explores light as an enabler of progress, a vehicle for connections and a source of heat and creativity. It seeks to embody the Age of Enlightenment, the 18th century movement that emphasised knowledge exchange and tolerance.

Russia Pavilion

Boasting a breathtaking night view and a wide range of modern Russian cuisines, this pavilion offers visitors a chance to see what future minds will be able to achieve.

Showcasing Russia’s extensive knowledge in various fields, Russia Paviliion will take visitors to the next level, where they can experience the possibilities of tomorrow.

Ukraine Pavilion

This pavilion has three zones – Smart life, Smart thinking and Smart feeling, as well as an entertainment programme that includes fashion shows, topical seminars and creative performances.

With inventions ranging from an e-bike that can travel 380km on a single charge, to blinds that use sunlight to generate electricity, the structure will showcase the innovative spirit of Ukraine while exploring its cultural heritage.
