The Middle East and North Africa Leisure & Attractions Council (MENALAC) staged its first networking event outside the UAE in December. The two-day get-together in Saudi Arabia was co-sponsored by Embed, whose debit card systems are widely used in FECs throughout the region.

Staged in the kingdom’s capital of Riyadh, the event on December 5/6 featured a “power-packaged” agenda. In addition to various education sessions, there were also tours to local attractions. Pictured here is a MENALAC delegation at Sparky’s family entertainment centre.

New opportunities in Saudi Arabia

The event, named Focus on Saudi Arabia, brought together renowned speakers, industry experts and key government authorities under one common platform. The aim was to discuss global best practices and examine the opportunities that exist now as the kingdom sets out to transform its leisure and attractions offer.

Industry professionals from both public and private sector organisations were in attendance, in addition to various international industry suppliers. Embed was one of three sponsors, alongside attraction operators Abdul Mohsen Al Hokair Group and Al Othaim Group for Leisure and Tourism.

“The Saudi market is very important for Embed and it was a real pleasure to be co-sponsors of the event,” says Embed sales manager Saeed Abdillahi. “We are committed to supporting the Saudi Vision 2030. Our presentation on the benefits of cashless systems was well received and we look forward to working with new potential partners.”

“Events such as these help MENALAC to facilitate progressive dialogue with local industry stakeholders and unlock fresh opportunities for our members,” says the association’s secretary general, Prakash Vivekanand. “We would like to thank Embed for their support of our networking endeavour.”
