Gateway solution provides ticketing, e-commerce and more to Boston Children's Museum

World leader in ticketing software, admission control and revenue generation, Gateway Ticketing Systems has provided its Galaxy Product Suite to Boston Children’s Museum (BCM).

The second oldest children’s museum in the world had two specific requirements. Firstly, a stable, secure point-of-sale and e-commerce solution. And, secondly, an experienced, reliable support to make the transition to the new system as seamless as possible.

“We hold ourselves to the highest visitor standard because that’s a reflection on our staff,” comments Colleen Donnelly, Senior Director of Visitor Experience. “Gateway’s team understood our needs and guided us along the way.”

The Galaxy software solution and Gateway’s comprehensive range of services delivered a solid ticketing, membership and e-commerce system, plus the expert care the museum required.

What’s more, Gateway’s team were on hand every step of the way during the system implementation.

Gateway Technical Support Specialist, Matt Steckiel, was involved with the project from the initial requirements gathering through Galaxy go-live.

“Being a children’s museum, the team takes both their reputation and their guests’ information seriously,” he says. “They were very excited about Galaxy’s strong user controls and auditing capabilities.”

Founded in 1913 by the Science Teachers’ Bureau, BCM is committed to inspiring in children an appreciation of the world around them. The museum’s exhibits and programmes focus on hands-on engagement and learning through experience. Its collections number more than 50,000 items encompassing Americana, Natural History, Global Culture, Native American, Dolls and Dollhouses, and Japanese artefacts.

“We are honoured to welcome Boston Children’s Museum into our customer community,” reports Don Eash, Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer at Gateway Ticketing Systems. “The relationships we form with our customers benefit us both. As we provide the tools, knowledge and services to strengthen their operations, our team gains new insights and perspectives through exposure to the museum’s knowledgeable team members and innovative ideas.”
