Google Assistant brings voice activation to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

News
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is to use Google Assistant’s voice activation technology at the Christmas attraction, enhancing the visitor experience.

The pods on the observation wheel will be enhanced with Google’s digital voice assistant. Visitors can choose their favourite Christmas song to play as they ride and access fun facts about the attraction.

Those with tickets to the Big Wheel will also be able to interact with Google as they queue, requesting complimentary hot chocolate from the elves as they wait, or snow effects for a wintry selfie.

The Google Pay app is also enabled for the seasonal attraction allowing visitors to use contactless payment across the event. AĀ new Coaster Pass cashless payment system from Connect&Go has also been introduced.

Voice activation technology

Voice activation technology was one of the key attraction technology trends identified by Blooloop for 2018.

Commenting on the new innovations,Ā Stephen Flint Wood, SVP & Managing Director, Arts & Entertainment, IMG said, ā€œWe are delighted to be partnering with the Google team to bring the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland experience to the next level. As the countryā€™s leading festive event, we are always striving for innovative new ways to surprise and delight visitors and provide a seamless journey throughout. This yearā€™s latest additions with Google Assistant and Google Pay will do exactly that.ā€

Calvin Lau, Head of Consumer Apps and Platforms UK Marketing, Google added, ā€œOur products are built to help make everyday tasks easier; whether itā€™s playing music, setting an alarm by just asking the Google Assistant, or paying with a quick tap from Google Pay. We are excited to be working with Hyde Park Winter Wonderland this year to help enhance the visitor experience from start to finish.ā€

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is held in London between 22 November 2018 and 6 January 2019.

This yearĀ Backyard Cinema and Penguin Ventures are to create an immersive cinema adventure based on the much loved The Snowman book. More than just a film screening, the experience will be a multi-roomed, multi-sensory, cinematic adventure.
