The Indian waterpark GRS Fantasy Park has fully automated payment across its site thanks to Semnox Solutions. The Semnox Parafait system is also set to go into use at the Snow Park that GRS will open soon adjacent to the existing facility.

GRS Fantasy Park is a 40 acre site located in the beautiful city of Mysuru, in the state of Karnataka. The park offers an adventure filled day for the entire family. With over 40 world-class slides and attractions, wet and dry, it has become one of the top waterparks in India.

With Semnox’s Parafait suite of products, GRS has moved from cash based ticketing to an end-to-end RFID-based cashless system. Doing away with the laborious ticketing process and several counters at the entrance has simplified guest access.

Digital signage from Semnox at the park’s access gates guides guests to various attractions and also advertises special offers and packages.

“We began this journey of overhauling our ticketing systems over a year ago,” says GRS Fantasy Park’s head of business, Ashwin Dange. “Before we finalised with Semnox, we did a lot of research about the various service providers in the industry, from Indian to international players. Team Semnox has been excellent and professional every step of the way.”

Multiple applications

In addition to the cards used to gain access to the park, silicon RFID wristbands enable cashless transactions at the F&B, rental, retail and locker counters. They also give guests access to the park’s virtual reality 5D-Ride. These customised wristbands ensure easy readability even in tough ambient conditions. The Semnox Parafait module has been installed at all point-of-sale (POS) counters such as food kiosks, rental counters, merchandise counters and photo booths, as well as two restaurants.

A centralised reporting system makes it possible to control financial operations. All the reporting from individual counters can be easily consolidated at the end of each day. Meanwhile a campaign and promotions management module gives GRS the chance to reach out to customers via SMS or email.

Smooth transition

“The transition to the new Semnox system has brought in a new vigor to the team,” says GRS Fantasy Parks head of operations, Balakrishna Kini. “Previously we used to struggle for reports but now all these are readily available in real time. This has enabled us to be better informed and take business decisions faster. I was sceptical at first if the members of the team who had never used a computer would be able to transition to an all computer system. But the easy user interface of the Semnox POS has enabled all team members to be tech savvy and handle daily operations without any issues.”
