Guru Dali museum app

Guru, the app tours specialist, has launched a new mobile experience for The Dali Museum, allowing visitors to explore the latest exhibition, “Visual Magic: Dali’s Masterworks in Augmented Reality”.

Guru is pleased to announce its latest mobile experience, in partnership with The Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida. The new app puts Dali’s masterpieces in motion and features AR to bring the exhibition to life.

The famous surrealist painter, Salvador Dali, used his art to challenge and transform reality. In order to give visitors a unique way of viewing his pieces, The Dali Museum partnered with Guru. The use of AR is a fitting way to explore some of the key aspects of Dali’s work and help to put them in motion. Visitors can now use The Dali Museum app to experience the new exhibition, “Visual Magic: Dali’s Masterworks in Augmented Reality”.

A master of motion

Guru Dali Museum appDali was a master of motion. His surrealist works are full of subtlety and symbolism, with many smaller elements coming together to form a larger theme. Guru has used AR technology to allow museum visitors to explore these elements and themes through interactive learning. The Dali Museum is well known for being a pioneer in mixing technology with culture, and this latest project is another innovative concept.

When guests arrive at the museum, they can download the free app to their own device, or use one provided by the museum. As they explore the exhibition, they can use their devices to view an AR animation at each piece of work. The app overlays these AR animations over the top of the existing works, to further illuminate different elements and themes.

The exhibition showcases Dali’s passion for challenging reality. He was also an artist who was fascinated with technology, so this innovative use of technology to explore his art is a fitting concept.

Guru is an expert in creating augmented reality experiences for attractions. One recent project is the new interactive mobile tour at Space Centre Houston, featuring AR, virtual reality lite, GPS maps, selfie filters and more.
