Over 140 attractions operators and owners from around the world gathered for the first IAAPA Safety Forum in Cancun, Mexico.
The IAAPA Safety Forum was convened to highlight the need for a ‘deep-rooted culture of safety’ across every aspect of the attractions industry.
Organised by IAAPA and its Global Safety Committee, the event gave attendees the opportunity to examine issues around creating and maintaining comprehensive safety programs. They were also brought up to speed on the latest developments and best practices in ride standards, loss prevention, risk management, ride design, and safety compliance issues.

The Forum gave industry stakeholders direct access to the world’s leading safety experts during an interactive program. Invited stakeholders came from a wide range of sectors and included government officials, ride operators, hospitality providers, manufacturers, teachers and students.
A common goal to ensure safe operations around the world
Two moderated panels featured leading global safety experts who shared their passion, knowledge, and experience with Forum attendees.
“I was delighted to have the opportunity to participate on the expert panel,” said David Bromilow, Amusement Parks and Attractions Director at the company behind online safety and maintenance solution, Mobaro Park. “The feedback and enthusiasm were outstanding. This Forum is just the beginning and serves as a starting point for future safety programs.”
The IAAPA Safety Forum was hosted by Ventura Entertainment’s Ventura Park and featured an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the attraction.
“Cancun was the perfect location for this forum,” added Paulina Reyes, Vice President, Latin American Operations at IAAPA. “Mexico is experiencing rapid growth and development in the attractions and theme park industry, and several world-class projects will open across the country in the coming months.
