Imagineear revs up guest experience at Design Museum's Ferrari exhibition

Leading creator of museum tours and multimedia content, Imagineear, has written, designed and produced an interactive multimedia tour for the Design Museum’s new Ferrari exhibition.

Ferrari: Under the Skin celebrates 70 years of passion, glamour and innovation behind the iconic marque.

Imagineear created the tour in partnership with the exhibition curators and the Design Museum team.

It’s the first tour of its kind for the museum. The museum recently moved to its new home in London’s reimagined Commonwealth Institute building.

Ferrari: Under the Skin brings the best of Ferrari from its physical and spiritual home in Maranello to the Design Museum in London,” explains Iain George, Imagineear’s Project Director, UK & Ireland.

“Our interactive tour helps visitors explore the history, design and incredible engineering behind Enzo Ferrari’s winning race cars and famous road cars of the last 70 years.”

According to George, the tour has been designed to be both informative and fun. It gives visitors an insight into what’s behind the brand. It also lets them get ‘under the skin’ of the legendary cars. Visitors access the tour on Imagineear’s own designed and manufactured MPti™players.

Ferrari tour features ‘Race-cam’ and 360º photography

“We use audio, video and 360º photography to see inside the cars on display. We are also using image recognition on our ‘Race-cam’ to re-live those winning Ferrari moments,” he says.

Imagineear provided a range of services for the project. These included advisory and planning services, scriptwriting, recording and editing through to interface design. The company also built the whole tour to a very tight deadline.

Imagineear is a fast-growing provider of multimedia tours and apps to museums and other cultural institutions. In addition, it designs and builds robust audio and multimedia equipment.

Current exhibitions being brought to life by the company’s multimedia guides include the Christo and Jean-Claude retrospective in Belgium and a Tove Jansson/Moomins exhibition at the Dulwich Picture Gallery.
