Leading experience design company, Jack Rouse Associates (JRA), is celebrating the opening of the brand new Independence Plaza at Space Center Houston.
JRA provided complete planning, design and project management for the ambitious exhibit which features the first shuttle carrier aircraft, NASA 905, and the high-fidelity shuttle replica Independence.
Visitors will be able to board both vehicles and explore interactive exhibits that tell the story of the Space Shuttle Programme and the future of space travel.
The exhibit officially opened on 23rd January 2016 with fireworks and skydivers in the presence of astronauts including Dr. Ellen Ochoa, Jerry Ross, Dr. Jan Davis, Ken Cameron and shuttle carrier aircraft pilot Frank Marlow.
“It was an unforgettable day for the world and our center, ” commented Richard E. Allen Jr., president and CEO of the non-profit Space Center Houston. “Visitors celebrated the historic day and the launch of the world-class exhibit symbolising one of America’s greatest accomplishments in space exploration.”
