Nanonation Partners Fontenelle Forest to Create Series of Digital Experiences

Interactive software specialist, Nanonation, has announced a long-term partnership with Nebraska’s Fontenelle Forest.

Their first project together is a series of digital experiences for the Forest’s brand new Raptor Woodland Refuge exhibit.

These immersive elements are seen as key to engaging young and old alike with the Forest’s conservation mission.

The new exhibit focuses on educating the public about conservation and rehabilitation efforts around raptor habitat management and recovery.

Nanonation worked in close partnership with Fontenelle Forest on the experiences, numbering six in total. The experiences combine the scientific expertise of Fontenelle’s staff and Nanonation’s creative know-how.

Engaging and Educational

Conservation Timeline allows visitors to learn more about the rich history of Fontenelle Forest and conservation in Nebraska.

A Digital Trail Map depicts the nearly 2,000 acres of Fontenelle Forest. Visitors can interact with the map to view a variety of satellite and topographic images. They can also access information on the trails, wildlife, and conservation efforts within the forest.

The Raptor Woodland Refuge sits 30 feet above the forest floor. Visitors can view the 12 mews which are home to 13 species of raptor. They can learn more about the birds via Nanonation’s interactive Mew Map.

Visitors can also test their raptor recall and knowledge of Fontenelle facts with two interactive games. Matching Game centres on the raptors and includes questions about feeding, nesting and migration. The Trivia Board quiz game poses a host of questions about Fontenelle Forest and its mission as one of Nebraska’s oldest conservation organisations.

Finally, a digital Messaging Board highlights rescue partners and volunteer information. It also provides an interface for staff communications to visitors via a dynamic messaging template.
