Parques Reunidos has opened their newest attraction in the intu Xanadú mall – “Nickelodeon Adventure” Madrid.

The attraction is the result of an agreement between Parques Reunidos and Viacom International Media Networks.

Various zones will be themed to popular Nickelodeon characters. In the Spongebob Squarepants zone, visitors can do jellyfish races, play an organ made of corals or obtain their sailing license at the boating school. Other zones are themed to Paw Patrol, Dora the Explorer and The Fairly OddParents – as well as a Ninja Turtles adventure course and a Rugrats zone for toddlers.

Other features of the attraction will be a birthday room, interactive area, 4D cinema and educational areas for schools. Visitors will be able to take a photo home as a souvenir of their day.

Official merchandise will be available at the Nickelodeon Store, and snacks and drinks at the Slime Cafe.

Jesús Fernández, Chief Operating Officer of Europe at Parques Reunidos, said: “After the success at Parque de Atracciones de Madrid’s Nickelodeon Land and Movie Park Germany’s NickLand, facilities like the ones at Xanadú allow us to offer families an opportunity to experience Nickelodeon in a different and innovative way through the activities and technology they will find at centers like the one opening now in Madrid.”

Manuel Gil, Senior Vice President, General Manager at Viacom International Media Networks España, said: “For Viacom, the launch of “Nickelodeon Adventure” Madrid means bringing the most beloved Nickelodeon characters –like SpongeBob SquarePants, Paw Patrol, or the Ninja Turtles- closer to the children in Madrid, but also to the families who come here on holiday. With this new indoor center, we offer, once again, a true Nickelodeon experiences.”

Parques Reunidos announced revenue of €583.1 million in the fiscal year 2018, as well as a number of investments for the new year.

It was a record year for the company’s operations in Spain, with strong attendance boosting revenue by 4%. The rest of Europe also performed strongly. In the US revenue grew 0.6%, after performance was negatively impacted by adverse weather conditions

The company is currently developing four expansion projects for 2019, representing a total investment of €70 million.

Earlier this month, the company opened the Atlantis Aquarium in Madrid Xanadú. It is the first aquarium in Spain to be free of single-use plastics, and hopes to educate the public about the threat affecting marine biodiversity and the whole food chain.
