Picsolve Epic Selfie

Picsolve, a leading digital content capture partner for visitor destinations, has announced the launch of an innovative new capture product. Epic Selfie is an evolution of the popular panoramic Super Selfie technology it launched last year in partnership with Panora.me.

Picsolve will be showcasing its new product Epic Selfie at IAAPA Expo Asia 2019. The product virtually places guests into iconic destinations or exciting new worlds. The result is a highly shareable, bite-size video. It begins with a selfie, before panning out to show a panoramic backdrop.

The Epic Selfie technology gives attractions a method of virtually transporting its visitors to another world, for example overlooking an iconic city skyline or exploring an underwater world. Guests can leave with a unique piece of content as a souvenir, plus the shareability of the images also means attractions can increase their visibility on social media. This new product will add to Picsolve’s existing Green Screen and Experience Wall installations, meaning that visitors have even more content to enjoy and share from a single photo opportunity.

Global expansion

Uptake of the company’s Super Selfie and Experience wall has been positive, bringing a new image capture experience to guests at many locations around the world. For example, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is expanding its partnership with Picsolve. The centre’s outdoor attraction, The Rocket Garden, which highlights rockets from three famous NASA space programmes, now features the opportunity to experience the ultimate space selfie. Visitors can enjoy video content which starts with their selfie and then zooms out into space.

Other planned installations of Super Selfie include Legoland Florida Resort and San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. Picsolve also announced the first installation of its Experience Wall in Asia, at Sea Life Bangkok Aquarium. The company is also expanding its footprint in Asia and the Middle East with a number of new partnerships and contracts, including Merlin Entertainment’s new attractions in China. Since entering the market in 2007, Picsolve is now the photo and video capture provider to 27 partners in Asia and the Middle East.

Picsolve CEO David Hockley, says, ā€œIn a region which prides itself on leading technological innovation, we understand the importance of developing new and exciting capture technologies that will excite visitors and drive additional revenue streams for destinations whilst enhancing customer experience. Epic Selfie delivers thrilling content thatā€™s impossible for visitors to capture themselves, and we canā€™t wait to show it off for the first time at IAAPA Expo Asia.ā€

He continues: ā€œOur continued innovation in photo and video capture is bringing new opportunities to our partners all around the world, including Merlin Entertainments. Iā€™m in no doubt that 2019 will be a busy year for us as we continue to expand our portfolio and build new partnerships in Asia and the rest of the world.ā€

Picsolve is the official photography sponsor of IAAPA Expo Asia in Shanghai. Attendees can enjoy a live demo of the Epic Selfie as well as meeting the team at booth #2813.

The company recently secured a five-year deal with Merlin Entertainments to provide images at five of Merlinā€™s London attractions, including Madame Tussauds London, the Coca-Cola London Eye and London Dungeon.
