PortAventura investing €11m in Convention Center expansion

News

PortAventura is investing €11 million in expanding its Convention Center to accommodate up to 6,000 people.

The addition of more than 6,000 square metres will take the Convention Center to 20,000 square metres with 24 rooms.

The expansion, highlighting PortAventura’s commitment to Business & Events, is scheduled for November 2019.

The new Convention Centre building will be fully integrated into the landscape, together with the existing building, and will have a new room called Sala Roma.

Sala Roma can be separated into three separate sections with a total area of 2,110 square metres, and with a capacity for more than 2,000 people.

The new space will feature natural lighting, and will be surrounded by terraces and Mediterranean-style gardens offering unbeatable views of both the sea and the golf courses.

The extension, like the rest of the building, is fully accessible for people with reduced mobility.

The recent opening of Hotel Colorado Creek brings the total number of rooms in the PortAventura complex to more than 2,200.

Colorado Creek is the first zero-emission hotel at PortAventura World, amid the company’s attempt to minimise its environmental footprint.

PortAventura World’s sixth hotel is inspired by the Gold Rush in California, and offers 4-star accommodation with direct access to PortAventura Park.

Hotel PortAventura, located next to the Convention Centre, has also opened its doors following a complete renovation.

“This range of improvements and new added features will reinforce our ability to hold simultaneous and larger scale events and, consequently, increase our competitiveness,” said Laura Valdeolivas, Director of PortAventura Business & Events/Convention Centre.

“Hundreds of national and international companies have already chosen to hold their events in our facilities, and we hope to continue growing, thanks to this big investment that reflects a great commitment to the growth of our division.”

Earlier this year, Street Mission, Europe’s first dark ride inspired by Sesame Street, launched at PortAventura World.
