Reed MIDEM, the organiser of MAPIC, has announced further details ahead of MAPIC 2020, the international retail property market which takes place from 17 – 19 November.

Reed MIDEM is pleased to announce that MAPIC 2020 will take place at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from 17 – 19 November 2020. Additionally, LeisurUp, a dedicated event for the leisure industry, will take place alongside MAPIC, from 17 – 18 November at Riviera 8, inside the Palais des Festivals.

Following the success of Leisure Day 2019, organisers are looking forward to the three-day event for leisure professionals. LeisurUp will include a dedicated exhibition area, conference programme and networking events.

MAPIC 2020

The theme of MAPIC 2020 is Embracing Collaborative Retail. The programming for this year’s event aims to provide extra support to the international retail property industry, which has been hit hard by the global pandemic.

“Rather than transforming the industry, the health crisis has accelerated existing trends,” says Nathalie Depetro, MAPIC Director.  “In November, we will focus on collaborative experiences, creating new business models, sustainability, data sharing and the move towards more generalised resource sharing.

“Much of the recovery in commercial property depends on the ability of everyone to pull together and rebuild collectively. In this context, MAPIC will, more than ever, play its role as a place for exchanging views, sharing information and discussing business on an international scale.”

Topics explored at MAPIC 2020 will include innovation, the consumer experience, the need for social contact, brand collaboration, the lifestyle mix, sustainability, the key role of food & leisure and more. Attendees will also benefit from MAPIC’s updated digital matchmaking tools, enabling quality networking opportunities thanks to the database’s new segmentation and the ability to make direct contact.

Ahead of the event, MAPIC has released a white paper on post-COVID retailing.

To date, there are 2 sponsors of LeisurUp 2020, The Smurfs and Magnicity, and 22 exhibitors, including DOF Robotics, KCC Entertainment Design, Polin Waterparks, Fun Spot EU, Play Mart International, Walltopia and more. There are still many opportunities to get involved with the event.

The first MAPIC Leisure Day took place on 12 November 2019 at La Croisette in Cannes, France. The full-day event saw industry experts gathering to co-create new sustainable business models and build the lifestyle destinations of tomorrow.
