Ride Entertainment’s Skycoaster reaches new heights with fresh upgrades

News
Skycoaster lit up at night

Skycoaster, a Ride Entertainment company, announced a partnership with JoyTech at the annual Skycoaster Safety Seminar this year.

JoyTech is a video software that documents the flight of the guest. This software is automated, customisable and is designed to be easily shared with family, friends and social media.

“We are proud to introduce the JoyTech Skycoaster Video System,” says Christian Lindvall Dahlgren, Chairman of JoyTech AS. “A fully automated video system that delivers a personal video straight to the customer’s phone within minutes of the ride is a very powerful tool both for revenue and marketing. The Skycoaster just got digital.”

In order for the video to work, riders carry a Trigger Card in their pocket for the duration of the flight. Sensors in the card activate the system and records the flight. It automatically uploads into the JoyTech cloud, where it is edited and distributed. The editing software allows custom introductions and sponsored messages to be added to the video.

A beacon of light

In partnership with KCL Engineering, a new LED lighting package will be revealed during the IAAPA Expo at Fun Spot America in Orlando. With eight new light shows, the illuminated Skycoaster will be visible for miles at night.

“The 250 ft. Skycoaster at Fun Spot America Orlando has been an icon among the Orlando-area attractions skyline since 2013,” says John Arie JR CEO of Fun Spot America. “We are excited to be giving it even more presence with the new dynamic lighting package from KCL.”

This new lighting system has a variety of uses. As Kris Kunze, Managing Principal of KCL Engineering says, the “new systems will allow the park to illuminate the structure in a variety of color combinations, whether to celebrate a holiday season, cheer on a local sports team, or even for national awareness events. The reduced power requirements when compared to their original fixtures coupled with the lower maintenance requirements for their team, should prove to be a huge win!”

Ride Entertainment will be at booth #5727 at the IAAPA Expo for anyone who wants to learn more about Skycoasters or their partners.

Ride Entertainment recently installed two new indoor rollercoasters at the highly-anticipated Nickelodeon Universe amusement park.
