Alton Towers is now offering visitors overnight “glamping” stays in their Stargazing Pods.
The Pods are minimally furnished and sleep up to four people with a double bed and two singles. Each pod has electricity but no plumbing, and the area includes communal toilets, showers and baby changing facilities.
102 Pods will be located next to the Enchanted Village at the South East corner of the Resort. Each pod has heating, charging points and WiFi, as well as under-bed storage and a small terrace. The Pods are arranged around ‘the green’ where children can play or use the telescopes to study the night sky.
The pods were first announced in March.
“Affordable short-breaks”
Divisional Director for Alton Towers Resort, Ian Crabbe, said: “More and more families are looking for affordable UK short-breaks where they can spend quality time together, try new things and enjoy their favourite destinations.
“Alton Towers Stargazing Pods offer a truly unique experience: the chance to spend the night under the stars in our beautiful countryside setting and enjoy all that Alton Towers Resort has to offer.”
The new Pods will be the most affordable way to stay at Alton Towers Resort. Prices start from £88 per night off-peak and £123 in peak season.
The price also includes a takeaway breakfast with hot drinks or milk and a freshly made bacon and sausage sandwich.
The Pods will be available from 12th April 2019.
This spring, the park opened the Wicker Man roller coaster. It is a wooden coaster that incorporates a six-storey high (17.55m) flaming wicker man.
