Leading Danish theming companies, Tema Design and Tema Design by MK Illumination, have opened a brand new world-class production facility in Pampanga Economic Zone, Philippines.

The new site is a response to a sustained period of rapid growth and ensures both companies can meet the increasing demand from clients around the world.

“We’ve had to grow quickly in order to keep our quality, pricing and timing commitments to our clients,” explains Rene Hansen, owner of Tema Design and Tema Design by MK Illumination. “We want to continue to grow and deliver exceptional products, and we’re excited that we now have a custom-built production facility that allows us to do this.”

Hansen is clear that preserving the companies’ high standards in the Philippines all comes down to values:

“As Danes, we value quality and delivering on our promises. We have high expectations and so do our clients. Clear processes and controls have allowed us to compete successfully against much larger competitors over the last few years. We’re going to use the same processes, controls and values in our new facilities to meet and even exceed client expectations.”

New building can accommodate further expansion

The new facility occupies a total area of 14,268m². Built with future growth in mind, it can accommodate up to 700 new employees across three buildings and has been finished to exacting standards.

The largest of the three buildings will house the majority of the production departments and processes. A second building is dedicated to product finishing, as well animation, animatronics and tailoring. The third building will be the companies’ head office and client reception.

Hansen adds that keeping staff ‘happy and safe’ is also a priority. To this end, the company has built a canteen with a fully-functioning kitchen, as well as an emergency clinic, first aid facilities and comprehensive safety systems.

What’s more, the facility is also future-proof:

“Tema Design has the opportunity to expand the production area by an additional 5,000m²,” he says.
