UK-based leisure and entertainment company, Tolliday Group International Ltd. (TGI), has been selected to supervise and deliver specialised management and operational services for Palm Mall’s landmark aquarium.
The attraction will be the first of its kind in Oman and the largest in the Middle East.
The mall’s developers, Al Jarwani Group, made the announcement through Tamani Entertainment L.L.C.
“The aquarium is a key attraction in the mall and will deliver a world-class education and conservation programme, as well as delivering an exciting attraction for our visitors, ” reported Al Jarwani Group Chairman, H.E. Mahmoud Al Jarwani.
“We chose TGI to ensure that we can achieve this.”
In fact, TGI developed the original concept and storyline for the attraction which will showcase the region’s diverse marine life.
“Oman has some of the most amazing marine life in the world, ” enthused marine biologist, Adrian Tolliday, TGI’s CEO.
“Our education programme will be second to none. We want to inspire an awareness and a passion to look after this extraordinary and rich environment for generations to come.”
The much-anticipated RO90 million Palm Mall development occupies 180, 000 square metres, 14km north west of Seeb International Airport. The leisure destination is slated to open in 2018.
Other major attractions include a snow village offering a range of snow sports and attractions and a family entertainment centre. There will also be a 12 screen multiplex cinema with 4D and a Food Hall offering a wide range of dining options.
Palm Mall is one of a number of regional TGI projects currently in the pipeline. The company has also developed its own range of aquatic attractions, BioQuarium™ and Blue Sanctuary™.
