Universal Studios Japan will offer four new attractions from spring 2018, including the world-first “UNIVERSAL SPECTACLE NIGHT PARADE: The Best of Hollywood”.
New attractions to come to Universal Studios Japan include a new theatre attraction, featuring “Curious George”. Curious George will interact with young guests “As if coming to life,” says the theme park in a statement.
“Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” will also be receive an enhancement with the latest technological advancements. The ride will be relaunched in late March 2018. The renovated thrill ride will offer guests even more exhilaration, using state-of-art technology to take guests on the adventure.
The park also promises a dramatic upgrade of the live stunt show “WaterWorld.” The show has been enjoyed by more than 100 million people.
The night spectacle parade will incorporate many of the park’s signature characters into an evening parade. Included in the parade will be The Wizarding World , the Ilumination’s “Minions”, the “Transformers”, and the “Jurassic World” dinosaurs.
The parade promises large-scale, precisely synchronised projection mapping, spectacular film lighting, dynamic floats, a sweeping cinematic score and live performances. The whole experience will be coordinated by Universal Creative’s ‘Show Orchestration’ technology.
This is the latest in a number of major projects currently in development at the rapidly expanding Universal Studios Japan. This year saw the launch of Minion Park. Next up is Super Nintendo World, slated to open in 2020. The new attraction is expected to pull in around 2 to 3 million extra visitors a year.
Located in Osaka, Universal Studios Japan reported record attendance last financial year. 14.6 million people visited the park, an increase of 700,000 in the previous year. By contrast, admissions to Tokyo’s two Disney parks fell by 0.6 percent to a just over 30 million.
The four projects are scheduled to open sequentially in Spring 2018.
