Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter has unveiled its biggest expansion to date with the Gringotts Wizarding Bank.
Opening on April 6, visitors will get to walk through Gringotts, see the Lestrange vault, view a gallery of goblins, and much more.
Lined with towering marble columns, the grand banking hall will be decorated with three crystal chandeliers and finished with real brass leaf.
Inkwells, quills, ledgers and piles of Galleons, Sickles and Knuts will complete the goblin tellers’ desks.
Bogrod and Griphook
Visitors will also get a look at the costumes and prosthetics belonging to goblin bankers, including Bogrod (Jon Key) and Griphook (Warwick Davis).
Once through the banking hall of Gringotts, guests will enter the depths of the Lestrange vault used to store the treasures of Bellatrix Lestrange – including the Sword of Gryffindor and Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup, one of Voldemort’s Horcruxes.
During filming, 38,000 pieces of rubberised treasure were created the for the vault, including 7,014 Hufflepuff Cups.
The 16,500sqft expansion was designed and built by many of the film franchise’s original crew members, including Oscar and BAFTA-winning production designer Stuart Craig, construction manager Paul Hayes and head prop-maker Pierre Bohanna.
Wizards Unite in AR
The Potterverse continues to grow, with Warner Bros and Niantic recently confirming Harry Potter: Wizards Unite – a new augmented reality mobile game inspired by J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.
Developed by Niantic, the makers of Pokémon Go, in collaboration with Warner Bros’ Portkey Games, Wizards Unite invites players on a magical quest through their own neighbourhoods.
