WhiteWater, a leading waterpark manufacturer, is celebrating success at the 2019 Leading Edge Awards, held at this year’s World Waterpark Association show.

WhiteWater is proud to announce that it had a successful World Waterpark Association (WWA) show, coming away with Leading Edge awards. The company was recognised for its work with Royal Caribbean International on Perfect Day at CocoCay and with Horizon Waterpark, LLC on Island H2O Live! WhiteWater’s Executive Vice President of Global Key Accounts, Andrew Mowatt, was also inducted into the WWA’s Hall of Fame.

WWA holds the annual Leading Edge awards in order to honour individuals and parks in the industry, who have demonstrated creativity in the development of new themes, facilities, programs, services, or products and operational concepts.

Perfect Day at CocoCay

Thrill Waterpark at Perfect Day at CocoCay is set on a private island in the Bahamas, which Royal Caribbean has invested $250 million on transforming. The island opened in May and has so far been a hit with visitors.

It is home to Daredevil’s Peak, the tallest water slide in North America, which reaches a height of 135 feet (41 metres). The striking Daredevil’s Tower can be seen from all around, with colourful aluminium cladding. It is also durable and can withstand high winds of up to 185mph ( 298kph) – it even weathered Hurricane Dorian in August 2019.

The tower contains two Flatline Loop slides named Dueling Demons, a Freefall slide named Screeching Serpent, an AquaTube slide and Pool Sider named Manta Raycers, and a green AquaTube slide with AquaLucent polka dots called Green Mamba.

Visitors can also enjoy Splash Summit which is home to a 4-lane Whizzard Mat Racer called Splash Speedaway, AquaSphere + Boomerango Fusion called The Singshot, and a Constrictor called The Twister. In addition to this, the largest wave pool in the Caribbean can be found at the park.

“What we created with Royal Caribbean International and Martin Aquatic Design and Engineering at Perfect Day at CocoCay is truly exceptional,” says Geoff Chutter, President & CEO of WhiteWater. “The park is already receiving an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from guests.”

Island H2O Live!

This new park in Kissimmee, Florida, is also wowing guests, thanks to several WhiteWater slides as well as the addition of Vantage. This award-winning technology allows the park to offer a personalised experience to visitors, by using relevant data to inform decisions.

For example, the park can view current attendance dispatch rates, guest dispersal and dwell times, queue times and historical data. It can even offer food and beverage selections based on customer preferences, having examined the data.

Vantage enhances guest’s experience of the park experience. They are able to use the proprietary-technology wristband to easily buy food and drinks without the need for cash or cards. They can also upload photos to social media in real-time, select their preferred music selections or lighting effects on slides, and more. With Vantage, guests have useful information at their fingertips and can check ride times, track friends and even make use of parental controls.

WhiteWater Island H2O Live

“Island H2O Live! is pushing boundaries by introducing new levels of interactive guest technology with Vantage on their slides,” says Chutter. “Working with Horizon Waterpark, LLC, Aquatic Development Group, and Innovative Attraction Management has been a pleasure and enabled us to bring to life our clients’ vision to make memorable experiences for their guests.”

“Our goal is to create an extra dimension of fun and thrill with innovative products and technology, and it is our belief that both Perfect Day at CocoCay and Island H2O Live! really showcase this,” he adds.

Island H2O Live! takes up 12.9 acres (68,400m2) and includes popular slides such as the Super Bowl, Blasterango, Constrictor + Rattler Fusion, 6-lane Mat Racer, Flatline Loop, and more.

Joining the WWA’s Hall of Fame

Mowatt joined WhiteWater in 1995, beginning with the leadership of the marketing team. He has since used his consumer insight to support the company’s key account clients and has been instrumental in helping bring to life projects at MSC Cruises, Great Wolf Resorts, Universal Studios, Disney, SeaWorld, Carnival Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Palace Entertainment, Cedar Fair, and Six Flags.

“We are honoured to have Andrew in our team, as his passion and commitment have played a big part in helping to grow WhiteWater into what it is today,” says Paul Chutter, Chief Business Development Officer of WhiteWater.

It has been a successful year for WhiteWater, who also recently announced that its President & CEO, Geoff Chutter, has been named EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2019 Pacific.
