Following the announcement in November that Zamperla is to build and operate an FEC at FICO Eataly World in Bologna, the Italian ride manufacturer has released a first draft of the farmyard-themed project.
The design was produced by Team Park Project. In total, the indoor family entertainment centre will host 12 children’s rides. These will include attractions for people with disabilities.
As well as a tractor ride and elevated track ride, we can see that several custom-themed versions of Zamperla favourites will be featured. These include a Crazy Bus, Happy Swing, Flying Tigers, Jump Around, Magic Bikes and a mini Ferris wheel.
FICO guests will enter the FEC, which is set to open this coming autumn/fall, via a farmhouse building. The project represents a return to park management in Italy for the leading manufacturer, following Zamperla’s success with Luna Park at Coney Island and Victorian Gardens at Central Park in New York City. Previously the company, which is based about 150km from Bologna in Vicenza, had a stake in Leolandia near Milan.
Artisan food showcase
FICO Eataly World positions itself as “the world’s largest agri-food park”. Foodies can explore the site on foot or by bike as they discover the culinary story from field to fork; and grapevine to glass.
Hundreds of small and medium-sized Italian food producers showcase their artisan offerings across multiple shops, trattorias, restaurants, street food kiosks and a two-hectare agri-food farm. The FEC, which will operate year round, is part of a wider expansion plan for FICO Eataly World that also includes a 4-star hotel.
