Disneyland Paris has confirmed that its Avengers Campus expansion will launch in summer 2022 at Walt Disney Studios Park as part of the resort’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
Visitors to Walt Disney Studios Park will enjoy an epic journey brimming with heroic adventures and thrilling missions. The opening of Avengers Campus comes after the opening of Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel in 2021.
Avengers Campus made its debut at Disneyland in California last year, with guests experiencing an animatronic Spider-Man flying through the air and the new ride, Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure.
“We’re going to give you super powers,” said Brent Strong, executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering. “There’s not a kid who has read a comic or watched a TV show or watched a movie who hasn’t walked away wishing they could sling webs, and we’re going to make that happen for every single guest.”
30th anniversary of Disneyland Paris
Also heading to Disneyland Paris for its 30th anniversary, which kicks off on March 6, 2022, are a new show called ‘Dream… and Shine Brighter!’ and a new pre-show experience, ‘Disney D-Light’.
Additionally, Disneyland Park will feature a new Gardens of Wonder attraction, comprising 10 themed gardens with 30 kinetic Disney and Pixar sculptures that come to life.
The Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris recently reopened to visitors following 12 months of renovations, marking the biggest refurbishment project on the castle since it opened in 1992.
“It took nearly a year to complete these works on-site with all of the teams,” said Tracy Eck, art director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris. “Painters, electricians, gilders, craftspeople in charge of the tiled roofs… It was a hive of activity.”
