Bob Iger has said that Disney is looking closely at China’s policies as attractions reopen. Disney could take guests’s temperatures before they enter the parks. A new report suggests it could take 2 years for Disney parks to get back to capacity.

Disney filed permits for the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction at Epcot.

SeaWorld CEO Sergio Rivera resigned after five months in the role. CFO Marc Swanson has been appointed interim CEO.

Genting Malaysia Bhd said in a statement that they are focused on a timely completion of the theme park at Resorts World Genting. It is meant to open in the third quarter of 2020.

Museums

Rijksmuseum Amsterdam

A live stream of the Palace Museum in Beijing attracted millions of views. The virtual tours took place over several days and were streamed on several platforms.

A new study from the Network of European Museum Organisations explores the impact of the coronavirus on 650 museums from 41 countries. The study reports that some museums have seen between a loss of 75-80% in their income.

The revised planning application for the Wetherspoon museum and hotel at The Moon Under Water pub has been approved by Wolverhampton Council.

Singapore has closed all attractions for four weeks to pre-empt the spread of coronavirus.

Kolmården Zoo in Sweden is planning on partially opening on weekends in April. The zoo will have a maximum of 1,500 people at one time in the zoo.

The Huangshan mountain range in China was flooded with visitors as attractions in China started to reopen. The popular visitor site quickly had to close after its daily limit was reached.

As attractions in China reopen, more safety measures are being put in place, such as the use of health QR codes. Different coloured QR codes are determined by the user’s health status.

Social Distancing

Merlin Entertainments has created an ‘A to Z of Entertainment’ filled with videos, live streams and activities for families to do over Easter.

As Disney parks remain closed, the company is continuing to make magic moments for those who are social distancing at home. The Disney Parks Blog has several activities and recipes available for children at home.

The Wizarding World has launched Harry Potter at Home. This online hub helps people add some magic to their daily lives. It includes videos, puzzles, quizzes and materials to encourage children to read.

Bompas & Parr released a Fluid Landscapes trend report where they look at potential behavioural changes we can see as a result of COVID-19.

And finally, some kittens and puppies were taken to Georgia Aquarium for a day trip. They spent the day running around and making friends with the fish.
