Gallagher and associates blooloop 50 museum influencer list 2020

The Blooloop 50 Museum Influencer list 2020: make your nominations

2020 has been a challenging year for the world’s museums. The impact of COVID-19 has been devastating, with around 90% of the world’s museums closing temporarily due to the pandemic. Most will suffer significant damage and experts suggest that up to 1 in 8 museums wordwide might not reopen.

So it is, perhaps, an unusual time to be highligting key influencers in the sector. However, by launching out first Blooloop 50 Museum Influencer List this year, in association with our friends at global museum planning and design firm Gallagher & Associates, we hope to shine a spotlight on at least 50 of the people whose innovation and creativity are helping museums through this uniquely challenging time.

As museums start to reopen, the visitor experience they deliver will be different. COVID-19 has in many ways been the ultimate disrupter. New initiatives, technologies and innovations will shape the museum of tomorrow. And it is the people driving and enabling this change we seek to celebrate with this list.

Help us highlight the work of 50 people working in the museum sector, whose creativity, innovation or leadership is helping the museum community through the pandemic and shaping the visitor experience of tomorrow.

We are proud to support the launch of The Blooloop 50 Museum Influencer lst.

Today, the role of museums in society is as important and as complex as it’s ever been. Museum leaders are challenging and guiding our field to become more inclusive, accessible, relevant, and safe.

The influencers on this list are people who push us to evolve the shape of our field and inspire us to be more creative, more innovative, and more inclusive.

You can nominate as many times as you like and you can nominate yourself.

Although we fully expect many familiar names to be on the list – prominent museums designers, directors etc. – we are also looking to highlight a broad range of people.

Infleuncers might have a low public profile, they might be new to the sector, or they might be junior members of a team. The key is that their work this year is having a real impact.

The last day for nominations is August 31. The final 50 will be revealed during the blooloop V-expo 13-15 October.
