Marian Adams is the Senior Manager, Operational Safety & ADA Compliance at Universal Orlando Resort and her expertise has been key to enabling the park to safely open during the pandemic.
At Universal since 1998, Adams had the herculean task of communicating Universal Orlando’s health and safety procedures as it reopened after COVID-19 imposed shutdown and in doing so she showed remarkable leadership qualities.
Not only were there many unknown variables and a short turnaround window, but there was also the knowledge that all eyes would be on Universal Orlando as one of the first theme park resorts worldwide to reopen in the middle of the pandemic. Adams worked with her team to develop safety signs for use across the resort’s three parks. In doing so she was keen to ensure a clear, consistent message for Universal’s guests.
Beginning as an office manager, Adams progressed to work on admissions and then operations roles at Universal Orlando. Early in her career, she also spent a brief period as an advisor at Universal Studios Japan. In her current operational safety capacity, she also handles accessibility issues in accordance with the American Disability Act.
