IAAPA Virtual Expo Asia

IAAPA, the global association for the attractions industry, is celebrating the success of the inaugural IAAPA Virtual Expo: Asia.

IAAPA is pleased to announce that the first-ever IAAPA Virtual Expo: Asia, which took place from 28 – 30 July, was attended by over 4000 participants, as well as 131 companies on the virtual trade show floor. Attractions professionals from around the world joined in with the virtual event and followed the action on social media.

IAAPA Virtual Expo: Asia featured an international exhibit hall with eight different pavilions. There were also nine educational sessions as well as seven networking events.

Reflecting the strength of the industry

“IAAPA’s first Virtual Expo truly reflects the resiliency and strength of the global attractions industry,” says June Ko, executive director and vice president, IAAPA Asia Pacific. “Our goal was to provide an innovative, timely new experience that brought the industry together.

“Our dedicated committee volunteers helped create an education conference and worked throughout to support each session. And our global manufacturer and supplier members partnered with us to provide an event that allowed for easy networking, communication, and connection.

“We are more inspired than ever by the heart and spirit of this incredible industry and are already taking key learnings from this event and applying them to our next IAAPA virtual events.”

Attendees enjoyed a range of sessions on topics such as best practices for reopening parks and attractions, safety, operations, automation and digitalisation, and more, presented by 21 speakers from across the globe.

For ease of access, participants could access the exhibit hall, educational sessions and chat spaces at any time, while those local to the region were able to watch live in China Standard Time (CST). The on-demand content for attendees is available online until Saturday 8 August at 5 am CST, and they can also follow-up with exhibitors until this point too.

Best virtual booths

During the course of the event, participants also voted for their favourite virtual booths across three categories. The winners are:

  • Best Booth Videos – Extreme Engineering
  • Best Booth Downloads – Polin Waterparks
  • Most Engaging Chat Room – Themebuilders Philippines, Inc.

Last month, IAAPA also announced two new virtual conferences featuring multi-day online educational experiences. IAAPA Virtual Conference: The Americas will be held from 2 – 3 September 2020, and IAAPA Virtual Conference: EMEA and APAC will take place on 22 – 24 September.
