Evermore offered an immersive and theatrical experience

Evermore Park, a fantasy theme park in Pleasant Grove, Utah, has announced “with deep sadness” that it has closed.

In a statement on its website, Evermore says it is “with deep sadness and gratitude that we announce the closing”. It adds, “The past decade has been filled with its share of trials and tribulations, but mostly magic and imagination.”

Opened in 2018, Evermore offered an immersive and theatrical experience across the entire park. At Evermore, visitors were more like explorers than guests.

“We have seen many miracles happen in Evermore Park with hundreds of thousands of people visiting throughout the years,” the statement continues.

“Some visitors just came to stroll the village and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere and entertainment, while others visited the park in elaborate costumes developing their own characters and fully immersed themselves in the story and events.

“Evermore was an inclusive, fun, and safe place for people to be themselves (or to play a character) and experience a moment of imagination.

“It’s our hope that the magical moments at Evermore Park continue on through the memories of the all the people who made it such a special place.”

In another statement, Evermore Park owner Ken Bretschneider said financial challenges, the pandemic and inflation contributed the site’s closure.

New attraction planned for Evermore site

“We are grateful for the many amazing experiences that happened in our little park and hope that it made a positive impact on the people who visited,” he said.

Evermore Park was also involved in a legal dispute with Taylor Swift. In March 2021, both parties dropped the lawsuits filed against each other this year regarding the singer’s album Evermore.

Swift countersued Evermore after the park sued her for trademark infringement following the release of her album.

According to local news reports, the 12.75 acres of real estate where Evermore Park is located will become a new attraction.
