3-2-1 Penguins! Blasts into 4D Theater Attractions Worldwide

News

Entertainment Rights (ER) Plc today announces that it has expanded its partnership with 3DBA to develop 3-2-1 Penguins!® as a franchise for 4D Theatre attractions worldwide. Deals are due to be concluded with partners across South East Asia and the Middle East in the near future.

4D film is an immersive experience lasting 10-15 minutes, wherein the audience is seated in a cinematic environment with 3D glasses. Seats have integrated effects including movement, vibration, water effects and speakers. The theatre itself delivers lighting effects to enhance the viewing experience.

Produced by Big Idea, the creators of the award-winning VeggieTales® series, 3-2-1 Penguins!® follows the galactic adventures of two young kids and four space-traveling penguins dedicated to responding to distress calls from across the galaxy and learning important life lessons and values along the way. The highly successful series  has sold 1.5 million videos to date and has captured audiences everywhere as a top-rated series on NBC Saturday mornings, Telemundo and ION TV via the qubo® children’s programming block, plus qubo Channel. 3DBA will be offering partners original and newly created content of 3-2-1 Penguins!® to be used as short form content for the 4D multi-sensory cinematic experience.

Mat Way, Global Head of Live Entertainment, Entertainment Rights Plc commented:

“We are delighted to be extending our partnership with 3DBA to include a 3-2-1 Penguins 4D Film Attraction, particularly as their previous creative executions in this format have been of such high quality. There is a lot of comedy in 3-2-1 Penguins and with the strong Space element in the series, we have a great platform for a fantastic, immersive family attraction that will appeal to theme parks and FECs worldwide”.

ER appointed 3DBA as its key sales partner for the delivery of key brands into themed attractions.  George of the Jungle™, Casper® and Finley the Fire Engine™ are currently being showcased at major trade shows throughout the world with a number of deals to be still to be announced.  The partnership builds on ER’s Live Entertainment division which to date adds to its track record of executing nationwide theatre tours, regional mall tours, multi-character live shows and summer residences in leisure attractions for ER properties internationally, including popular brands Basil Brush® and Postman Pat®.

Roger Houben, President of 3DBA commented: “We are very excited to be developing a 4D Film Attraction for 3-2-1 Penguins. We anticipate building on the Space element which is such a perfect theme for this format, and delivering an engaging and humorous experience for all the family. We are confident there will be additional applications for this property too.”
