MagicBand 2 Wearable Tech Debuts at Walt Disney World Resort

Walt Disney World Resort is rolling out MagicBand 2.  The next generation wearable technology has a thinner band and pop-out disc that can be carried in a carabiner or lanyard.

The new version was first unveiled at a D23 event in November.

The new bands come in eight colors and retail at $12.99 — the same price as the original solid MagicBands and offers the same features as the existing bands.

Wearable tech looks set to be a trend this year.

Carnival recently revealed their Medallion wearable tech device which offers a “highly personalized and elevated level of customized service” for their 11 million passengers a year.

The TapuTapu device to be introduced at Universal’s Volcano Bay when it opens in May promises to take the technology to the next level, offering not just virtual queuing but also interactivity.  Guests will be able to trigger special effects through the park with a tap.
