Dubai Frame attracts 1 million visitors in year 1

The Dubai Frame has attracted a million visitors in its first year of operation – a “remarkable achievement” for the new landmark.

It is 150 m (492 ft) and 193 m wide. The Dh160m tower building is designed to “frame” the city’s iconic buildings. It is sited in such a way that the iconic landmarks of modern-day Dubai can be seen on one side, whilst visitors can see a view of the older parts of Dubai from the other. One feature is a glass bridge. The Dubai Frame offers a 360 degree view of the skyline on either side of it.

Dawoud Al Hajri, director-general of Dubai Municipality, said: “The Dubai Frame comes from the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to establish Dubai as an international cultural, entertainment and tourism destination.”

The huge number of visitors, he said, is a “remarkable achievement” for Dubai.
