Holoverse is the name of a new gaming centre in Oman that aims to offer a fresh take on virtual reality entertainment.
Billed as the Middle East’s first hologram arcade, the facility opened earlier this month at the Oman Avenues Mall in Muscat. Realised by Euclideon Entertainment in partnership with mall operator the Al Tamman Group, it follows the original Holoverse site from Euclideon in Queensland, Australia.
The new arcade in Oman features six 2-player Euclideon Hologram Arcade Tables. Each comes with a catalogue of locally developed games. With engaging gameplay, they are expected to foster friendly competition and encourage repeat play.
“Holoverse adds an exciting dimension to Oman’s tourist and visitor experience,” a spokesperson told TradeArabia. “My team and I are excited to bring what the public have only seen in science fiction films to life. The sultanate will benefit greatly from having this new, cutting-edge technology arcade at Oman Avenues Mall.”
Pre-dating augmented reality, but offering certain similarities, hologram technology is a lifelike 3D projection of an artificial environment, presented in the real world. Providing a significantly more social experience than virtual reality, Euclideon’s Hologram Arcade Table offers gaming with a twist. The arcade also features a party room.
Euclideon Entertainment’s CEO, Bruce Dell, says he’s pleased to be open at Oman Avenues. “Euclideon and Al Tamman Group have been working hard over the past few months to make the Holoverse arcade in Oman a reality”. “Guests will be able to choose from different interactive games, with many more being made available over the coming months.”
According to TradeArabia, Al Tamman’s Grand Entertainment division is planning to bring further family-oriented entertainment options to Oman in the near future.
