Russian company Innova, currently working on a Kidzania for Moscow, also plans to open a DreamPlay attraction in the city. The $15 million project will be designed by DreamWorks Animation.
Speaking to Kommersant, Mikhail Sverdlov, the Commercial Director of trade centre Aviapark said construction will start in January 2017. The plan is to open the attraction in the first quarter of 2018. It will be based in Aviapark, in the north of the city.
According to DreamPlay’s spokesperson Xenia Korneev, Dreamplay’s investors can expect an ROI in 5 years. The footprint of the attraction is 4, 500 square meters.
DreamPlay in Manila and Hyderabad
This will be the world’s second DreamPlay. There is also a DreamPlay within the US$1.3 billion City of Dreams Manila resort in The Philppines. This was built in partnership with Dreamworks Animation and opened in early 2015. The resort is owned by Melco Crown Philippines.
Moscow’s attraction is hoping for up to 450 thousand visitors in its first year.
The new DreamPlay will have more of an emphasis on the children’s sporting development than kidzania said Korneev. She highlighed the fact that the attraction in The Philippines includes a a rope obstacle course and a dance floor.
Earlier this year The Times Of India reported that DreamWorks planned to build a “small-scale” theme park attraction in Hyderabad. The city has a vibrant film industry and is also home to Ramoji Film City, the movie-themed amusement park and film studios. DreamWorks is also keen to expand its production facilities in India.
