Welsh adventure attraction company, Zip World, has installed what claims to be the ‘biggest, fastest city zip wire in the world’ on London’s South Bank.
Riders will reach speeds of up to 50mph during the 225-metre descent across Archbishop’s Park near Lambeth Palace.
The wire launches from a 35-metre high tower.
According to Zip World, the new attraction will afford ‘never before seen views’ of the capital.
The ride takes around 30 seconds.
Barry Shaverin, founder of Zip World London, described the experience as a halfway house between a roller coaster and a bungee jump.
He added that it was ‘exciting but not terrifying’ and suggested that it was something Londoners could do in their lunch hour.
Zip World was founded in North Wales by former Royal Marine, Sean Taylor, who built the world’s fastest and Europe’s longest zip line at Bethesda’s Penrhyn Quarry, Gwynedd in 2013.
Today, it is a magnet for thrill-seekers from all over the globe.
