Barco, the technology company focusing on innovative visualization solutions, has reached a new milestone for its G-series line as sales for the single-chip laser phosphor projectors have hit the symbolic marker of 10,000 units.
The six cost-effective projectors in the Barco G-series offer uncompromising laser phosphor projection and range in brightness from 7 to 22K lumens. The series expands the options available on the market for a wider range of applications to treat museum and theme park audiences to exciting experiences by offering excellent value with a cost-effective price.
“Upon the launch of the very first G60, it was an immediate bestseller,” says Barco product manager for projection Frederik Bouckaert. “As the platform continued to grow with the addition of new models like the G62 and the G100, so did the sales volumes, especially in the last year. We’re proud to now have 10.000 G-series projectors in the field with installations in prestigious award-winning projects like Culturespaces’ digital art exhibitions, Expo 2020 and Museum of the Future.”
Realising potential
The demand for interactive experiences at theme parks and museums, as well as the rising demand for digital art displays, are major contributors to this growth, with projectors being essential to the creation of immersive experiences. Artists are utilising projection technology to create interactive, multi-sensory experiences that engage and inspire audiences, from large-scale projections on buildings and monuments to smaller-scale installations in galleries and other cultural settings.
As a growing list of companies and artists use projection technology to produce distinctive and captivating experiences for their audiences, Barco predicts that the demand for projectors in these areas will increase over the next years. The firm says that the industry will see even more creative applications for this technology in the future given the growing accessibility and adaptability of projectors such as the G62.
The Barco team will be sharing more information about the firm’s latest G-series models at ISE 2023, Hall 3 booth 3D400 from 31 Jan – 3 Feb 2023.
