accesso appoints chief operating officer

The attractions industry ticketing and technology provider accesso has hired John Guilfoy as its chief operating officer (COO). He brings over 20 years of experience in the travel, technology and financial services sector to this newly created role.

accesso-James-Gulifoy new COOReporting to accesso CEO Paul Noland, Guilfoy (pictured) will lead the day-to-day operations of the company. As COO, he will be charged with responsibilities including:

  • Driving continued growth, innovation and customer success.
  • Expanding the portfolio of solutions and clients.
  • Advancing accesso’s strategic priorities.
  • Aligning the company’s product, customer operations and support teams across the business.

A collaborative career

In his career to date, Guilfoy has lead teams in sales, marketing, product, operations and partnerships. Prior to joining accesso, he served for eight years in a variety of executive roles at TravelClick. As a high-growth e-commerce provider, in this case to hotels, there are some similarities to accesso. There he oversaw the complex merger of EZYield and created strategic partnerships with companies including Expedia and Booking.com.

Before that, Guilfoy spent over a decade with American Express, plus several years with the corporate finance and restructuring firm Alvarez & Marsal. He has an MBA from Columbia Business School and London Business School as well as a BA in Economics from Columbia University in New York City.

The company has over 1,000 clients in 30 countries. Recently it announced partnerships with the USA’s National WWII Museum and the St Louis Aquarium at Union Station.
