accesso Prism wearable technology wins prestigious IAAPA Impact Award

Leading technology solutions provider, accesso, has won IAAPA’s prestigious Impact Award for its breakthrough accesso Prism technology.

A Brass Ring winner in the Best New Technology category, Prism was judged to have the greatest impact on the amusement parks and attractions industry.

This is the fifth time accesso has scooped IAAPA’s ā€œBest New Product Technologyā€ award in the past nine years. The IAAPA Brass Ring Awards recognise excellence throughout the global attractions industry.

Prism allows for a fully integrated ‘smart park’

accessoā€™s award-winning Prism technology is a fully integrated smart park solution. The next-generation, wearable device can handle everything from front gate entry and secure cashless purchases, to sending push notifications or triggering events based on guest location.

Prism employs the company’s award-winning queuing technology: LoQueueSM.Ā Guests secure their place in a virtual queue for an attraction or show simply by swiping the wristbandā€™s touchscreen menu – no need for a kiosk or smartphone. If a rideā€™s operation is temporarily interrupted, or a show is rescheduled, the Prism device will simply notify guests.

Since its release in 2001, LoQueue has enabled over 11 million guests to queue less, ride more, enjoy a better experience and increase in-attraction spend.

IAAPA awards round off ‘landmark year’

ā€œWe are honoured to receive our first-ever Impact Award, as well as a Brass Ring Award from IAAPA, recognising the cutting-edge technology of accesso Prism,ā€ said Steve Brown, accesso CEO. ā€œOur dedication to improving the guest experience with technology continues to drive our development as a company that is helping to guide and shape our industryā€™s future.ā€

These awards round off a landmark year for accesso. The company made two major acquisitions including The Experience Engine (TE2), the largest acquisition in the companyā€™s history.

Over 1,000 attractions and venues worldwide currently employ accesso technology ā€“ from theme parks, water parks, cultural attractions, live performance venues and sporting events to ski and snow parks. These include major names such as Six Flags, Merlin, Mammoth Mountain, Washington State Fair, Cedar Fair, National Aquarium, Peak Resorts, Palace Entertainment and many more.
