Al Ain Zoo is offering a fun way to explore the local scenery while staying active and healthy, with two new cycling experiences to enjoy.

Al Ain Zoo now offers two tailored cycling experiences to help visitors try a new healthy activity. There is a family-friendly bicycle trail or a more adventurous mountain bike challenge to choose from, meaning there is something for everyone.

In an interview, Omar Mohammed Al Ameri, Director of Operations at Al Ain Zoo, said: “This new experience is an exciting addition to our efforts in encouraging the community to adopt an active lifestyle and enjoy the natural environment in Al Ain Zoo.

“As well as highlighting the amazing Hafeet mountain, home to a wide range of flora and fauna, explores can immerse themselves in its abundant history. Many of our guests and Al Ain visitors love to explore this area, enjoy their favourite sport activity or simply relax within its incredible natural beauty.”

Cycling fun

Those who choose the adventurous mountain biking option can explore one of three tracks, which are 3, 7 and 9km long respectively, taking them on a journey alongside Hafeet mountain and the Al Ain African Safari.

Meanwhile, the more gentle bicycle trail can be enjoyed by family and friends as they take in the natural surroundings of the zoo. Participants are encouraged to follow all the health and safety regulations during the cycle rides, to enjoy a safe and memorable experience.

There are also expansion plans underway at Al Ain Zoo, with construction taking place on the new Reptile Park, Elephant Safari, Gorilla Sanctuary and Sand Cat Conservation Centre. In addition to this, there will be a new Koala Land, Chimpanzee Forest, Al Ain Nature Reserve, Rescue Centre, Penguin Beach, Elephant Exhibit, Event Land, and Sand Cat Breeding Centre.

The Al Ain Nature Reserve covers 13,823 square meters and Al Ain Zoo is home to around 400 threatened species.
