Allegan Event Center, featuring a two storey Sky Trail Discovery by Ropes Courses Inc. (RCI), has officially opened to the public.

The new attractions are designed to complement Allegan Event’s thrilling double zipline that soars across the Kalamazoo River and opened to much acclaim last summer.

A two-storey Sky Trail® Discovery ropes course is the centrepiece of the indoor attraction. Rising 35 feet in the air, it features two Sky Rail™ ziplines. There are 60 different elements offering a variety of challenges, including a rolling log, a swaying ladder, and a narrow balancing beam.

Other attractions include 17 Clip ‘n Climb walls

One zipline is an 80-foot straight rail. The other is a 100-foot curved rail, offering a new twist on the usual zipping experience. For added fun, there’s a QUICKjump free-fall exit from the second storey of the course. The controlled descent is designed to provide added thrills for adventurous participants.

“The opening of the new Allegan Event Center is the culmination of several years of envisioning, planning, and construction by our entire staff to create an innovative and active destination where families, couples, teens, and kids can play together in a dynamic setting in any kind of weather,” stated Jim Liggett.

Aside from the Sky Trail, other attractions at the centre include 17 distinctive and colourful 30-foot high Clip ‘n Climb® climbing walls.

“As technology and devices seem to take over more and more of our time each day, we feel like it is vitally important to create attractions that encourage people to put down their smartphones and tablets and invest in play time that is both engaging and challenging,” added Michelle Liggett.

According to the Liggetts, there are plans for the new facility to serve as both a showroom and training area for RCI’s clients. The centre will allow them to see and experience the company’s wide range of products including high ropes courses, climbing walls, ziplines, and human mazes.
