Ropes Courses 1,200ft cross-river zip line stars at grand opening of Allegan Event Z!P

Leading adventure attraction company, Ropes Courses Inc., has provided its CTS Zip Line to brand new adventure facility Allegan Event Z!P in Michigan.

Allegan Event Z!P celebrates its grand opening on June 10th as part of the city’s annual Bridgefest, with the 1,2000ft zip line as its star attraction.

Ropes Courses’ zip line soars between two structures either side of the Kalamazoo River. Participants climb the main structure on the river’s north bank at Riverfront Plaza and fly 600 feet across the river to a smaller structure. Here, riders land and then prepare for another zip back to the main 45 foot tall structure.

Aside from the zip line, guests can also experience free-fall adventure, QUICKjump, by Headrush Technologies.

“If you’re an adrenaline-junkie you have to do the QUICKjump!” says Byron Bell, Allegan Event Z!P Manager. “I step off the platform and gasp every time. The drop is smooth and controlled though, so it’s a very comfortable ride.”

Both attractions are designed to suit all levels including beginners although participants must be 42 inches tall and weigh under 285 pounds. All those taking part are kitted out with a full body harness and a redundant sling line that is hooked into the tracking system at the launch platform.

“We’re thrilled to bring adventure to our city that will entice people from all over the state to check out Allegan,” comments Jim Liggett, owner and founder of Ropes Courses, Inc.

“This attraction was long overdue and the buzz of the activity here will be very exciting to witness…right in our own backyard.”

Liggett, an adventure attractions enthusiast, founded Ropes Courses in Allegan in the 1980s. Since then, interest in the sector has continued to escalate. The company currently employs more than 70 experts in design, engineering, manufacturing, installation and operation of ropes courses and zip line attractions.

Existing operators looking to enhance their offering have also been quick to see the potential of the company’s Sky Trail® and Sky Tykes® ropes courses which work for indoor as well as outdoor venues. They can also be tailored to suit the space available. Recent installations include Hattiesburg Zoo and Florida’s Seascape Towne Centre development.
