A leader in interactive ride technology, Alterface, is to showcase the world’s first non-linear multimedia ride, Erratic, at the China Attractions Expo (CAE) 2018 in Beijing.

The company will also be on hand to discuss its involvement with the world’s largest interactive dark ride at Wanda’s Oriental Movie Metropolis in Qingdao.

The mega film and television park is set to introduce media-based interactivity on a high speed roller coaster. Alterface is providing design and installation of all image generators and the shooting system across 7 different scenes and 42 3D projection screens.

“This project demonstrates the versatility of the Alterface technology as we have to deal with many new challenges resulting from this type of action, speed and vehicles,” explains Benoit ‘Ben’ Cornet, Alterface CEO & Founder.

“The attractiveness of mixed-media has been demonstrated by the tremendous success of Disney in Shanghai, where millions of visitors have experienced that fun goes beyond equipment only. It is also a clear and vivid evidence that the market is open to something different and more dynamic, and ready to invest in higher quality projects with strong concepts.”

Erratic – immersive dark ride excitement on a limited footprint

The company expects business to be brisk in Asia for its new Erratic attraction (above), the world’s first non-linear, multimedia dark ride. This latest development is a response to the many spec-conscious FECs in China currently disappointed by unsatisfying solutions.

Erratic® provides dynamic scene changing, allowing players to determine the sequence depending on their ranking and preferences. The ride offers a turnkey, immersive dark ride solution on a limited footprint with the added benefit of high throughput.

“We see the Chinese market evolving very rapidly and eagerly,” adds Cornet. “It is a great pleasure for us to bring our experience and know-how to the table and share them with our partners to create a solution that perfectly fits expectations of today’s and tomorrow’s park visitors.”

Meet Ben Cornet and the Alterface team at booth #U203 at CAE from 17 to 19 March 2018.
