Alton Towers has revealed that Christmas is returning to the resort with two new enchanting experiences in the gardens this year, beginning in November.
Visitors will get the chance to enjoy family rides and attractions, meet Father Christmas, take part in Santa’s Sleepover and visit Santa’s Woodland Grotto.
On selected dates throughout November and December, guests can enjoy an overnight stay as part of Santa’s Sleepover in one of the resort’s hotels or lodges.
Each stay includes a festive evening meal, as well as a visit to Santa’s Woodland Grotto, where each child will receive a special gift and souvenir photo with Father Christmas.
New additions this year include ‘Garden Lights Walk: Twinkling Stars’ and ‘Garden Lantern Trail’, which are both outdoor attractions in light of COVID-19.

Garden Lights Walk takes families on an illuminated trip through the resort’s gardens, while Garden Lantern Trail offers a magical journey down a secret path to fantastical corners of the gardens.
In addition, Alton Towers will host live seasonal entertainment at Fountain Square.
Alton Towers Resort is also offering festive breaks from December 27 to January 3, which include a selection of rides and attractions, illuminated gardens, and entry to Alton Towers Waterpark.
Earlier this year, Alton Towers postponed the opening of Gangsta Granny: The Ride, which is part of The World of David Walliams, until spring 2021.
Gangsta Granny riders will join Ben and Granny as they attempt to steal the Crown Jewels, boarding a Royal Carriage as they embark on a tour of the royal ceremonial objects.
Meanwhile, Merlin Entertainments has shared a construction update about Legoland New York, confirming the team are working hard to create bricktastic fun for 2021.
